My experiences with English August + Ramble da Damble

It was the hype of Dev Benegal’s Road Movie that directed me to Upamanayu Chatterjee’s English August, passing across Benegal’s edgy and spiced –up ‘Split Wide Open’.

Since the movie prints had been ruined somehow, the only way to experience what fascinated Benegal’s mind was to buy a copy of the novel. It is interesting to note that Benegal’s features have always been based upon Chatterjee’s novels, which have a unique style in them, which I was supposed to explore.

Being not much of an avid reader, and belonging to the Chetan Bhagan class of readership, English August was a difficult read, more because of its content and less because of its language. The content, which deals with Agastya Sen (the protagonist of the novel if you can call him one), is surely a slow paced, in depth study of Agastya Sen’s lifestyle which in itself is snail-paced to the extent of an exaggerated Godardian traffic jam. (Refer: Jean Luc Godard’s Weekend)

Agastya Sen , an IAS trainee, used to the comforts of metropolitan life, feels low and out-of-place when he is placed in Madna, an over-heated village, which would be something an NRI would be shameful in discussing with his colleagues. Disinterested in the context of his life, his surroundings and even himself, he resorts to senseless masturbation and endless dosage of marijuana to shove some sense into the black hole of his life. To cope up amongst the fat old bureaucrats and make sense of why he should be there at all.

It almost took me a year to finish this novel, but whenever I read it, I ended up being unaware of the surroundings to an extent, where awareness would remain a mere formality. The feeling of aimlessness resonated and began haunting me. It felt as if a spongy stuffing of laziness rested between the two stretched slices of fungi infested bread depicting the severity of the aimlessness.

And yet, I tried to make sense of it, much like Agastya, who kept on making sense of “O Krishna, the mind is restless” from Bhagwad Gita… I tried to associate the “stagnancy” and relate it with “progression”. Make a philosophical cinematic sense out of it. Make Mani Kaul out of it and just like my past attempts bring an abrupt end to what I write.. (to this write-up)

The cloud cushions of the Gods grinned at us – pass the first person – They continued grinning at us – NO FIRST PERSON, YOU AIN’T FUCKIN’ CHETAN BHAGAT.

Hanuman and Ganesh statues looked down at the sight of 12 BJMC students, sane enough to arrange a bonfire amidst a hill – and that too when the sun was playing hide and seek with the clouds. The cushion clouds moved to and fro. The Gods could feel the jerks on their heads. Hanuman turned angry. He grabbed one of the clouds, messed it up, transformed it into a camera and captured the BJMC students in a group photograph with all those forced smiles that could scare away the kids of peacocks. In fact it did scare a few of them. Half of them fled away because of the sound generated by the shutter, the flash was even worse. In normal terminology, it could be called “lightning”.

The BJMC students looked at each other in amazement, focusing on the hair, focusing on the “late hair”. The updated their facebook relationship status to “widowed”.

While returning down the hill, they found some Ghost Rider, whose name wasn’t Nicholas Cage. His name sparkled on his chest – Kilojoule Mehta. The rain which immediately occurred after the snapshot washed away the hair that made most of the students itch like bitch… and extinguished Kilojoule’s fire – He was draped in four colours namely Red, Blue, Black, and Green.

‘Sorry but I am totally a media person’ he roared and acted like Kane as the four lights sprang out of his arm pits and pubic pit(s). Red, Blue, Black, Green exhaled their presence. Even the heavy rainfall couldn’t wash off his colours. ‘See, I emerged from some place called FART (Fake Allahabad Radio Transmitters) and all I wanted to say was that whenever you find some security guard, traffic policeman, engineer, doctor, prostitute, cricket player, Chauhan or even the goddamn’ prime minister – don’t argue, remember don’t argue, just say sorry and fuck off’

‘Both sorry and fuck off?’ replied one curiously retarded girl, nibbling her chappals.

‘No, no, no, no, no …seriously, are you media persons or what? Say sorry and then leave, isn’t that called fuck off in Queen’s English?’

‘No’ replied a curiously frustrated guy beating the hell out of himself with a leather belt.

All nodded lunatically.

‘Ho gaya? ’ one guy asked, with curiosity levels smooching Bachendri Pal.

Some of the students were trying to escape stealthily.

‘WAIT’ he cried.

The scared expression paused on their faces.

‘SORRY’ he said and ran away.

Few minutes later, they slid off the peaks, bruising their legs, arms, posterior etc.

Trudging on the Amity route, they found two local habitats, dragging their Royal Enfields. One of them was Ashoka Koka Chauhan (AKC), the other was Warden Warden (W2). W2 whistled at the sight of girls and AKC contributed his sounds in favour of boys.

‘You guys from amity, yeah?’ grunted Chauhan

‘BJMC’ face-farted W2.

‘No we are from DU’ replied a non-curious girl.

‘But DU teaches Bachelor in Journalism Honours’ interrupted Chauhan.

The ever so diplomatic BJMC students agreed at once. One guy stood at each rear end of the bike, tied a mutual metallic rakhi connecting the bike with the waist. They formed a semicircle with intermingled herd of boys and girls shouting ‘Chuk Chuk’ and dragging their semicircular trains as the super-rogues sped up.

Within seconds, the group reached the threshold of Room No. 302, without changing the semicircular shape. Before they could get in the classroom, Bani G/ Vani J stepped out and blocked the door.

‘KEYWORD PLEASE’ she uttered in a Rajnikantish Robot tone.

Hello this is Shiva Nagri and I AM HERE (unfortunately) and I will be farting out a new post (tribute to modern day maverick Mr. Arjun Singh Chauhan hiyn… the new angry young boy) and that too after a slumber of 3 months which ranged from the ever so hectic admissions to the never so boring and continuous sleep sessions,once in a while broken by the enthralling Need for Speed Most Wanted or the time shattering God of War 2.

What I wanted to talk about was the handy phenomenon these days THE TOUCH SCREEN.

iPhone probably revolusionned (revolutionized + illusion) the concept of touch screen in smart phones, even though it wasn’t as revolusionarry as iPod because iPhone was just a crappy call button and some bullshitting features added to iPod touch in exchange of much more financial greenery.

Whatever tryst I had with it, turned out to be a workout session on a ski.

Whatever it did, was probably add a lot more to ongoing illegal trade in India, by hurting the sentiments of roti kapda makan aur mobile class of india who scratched their inflated rears filled with twinkling egos and deposited them inside the Chinese locker.

Thanks to Nokia and Samsung cheaper touch screen handsets are coming and as far staring on cellphones is considered I had the ability to notice that since the past decade of Nokia’s Indian trends they have finally moved on from Nokia 6600 to 7610 to Xpress music 5500 and finally landing on 5800, which has cheaper versions Iike 5235 and more(with an accelerometer that eats its own shit)

Another thing which is making its mark in the entertainment sector is motion sensors better experienced with accelerometers inside cellphones and wii remotes .

And 3D, well I believe it’s a gimmick and even if the whole world donates its eyes it will be a gimmick, hope holographic displays come sooner to kick its ass.

Ofcourse this darker than thou glassier than thou 3D will stay. Gimmicks do stay (eg: me)

Last year i was busy pretending studying, sad to know i just wrote 8 posts. This year i hope i cross my earlier limits. Wishing myself and all A HAPPY 2010.

While the telecom industries are busy in taking the country back to Aanas, the food prices have thrown up a projectile that seems to have lost a sense of gravity midway. And while the calls play Aana Paisa, the Rupee is rejoicing with a new member “the 10 rupee coin”. Who thought that a new coin could be a warning! So by the time the callers dry their cerebral fluids, the food prices have sprung out of the normal rupee shell competing with the dollars and pounds.

In the screwed up suspension between, the paisa and pounds, hangs the consumer naked, spreading the foul fragrance of his condition from the arm pits to the deep nose quarries. The “new” consumer is breakfasting (when will it get a deserving place in the dictionary), brunching, lunching and dining with sweet schemes like calls @ 1p/sec. and 50p/min. and other screwy schemes.

The new menu includes Juicy talks, spicy talks, sugary talks and various other cheap flavours. More the decrease in call rates, more the availability of various call cakes coagulating the GSM and CDMA networks. In fact the GSM is trying to combat with GDP!

And since 2010, there will more Dandi marches over the wounds.

Presenting the “PAGAL PREDICTIONS”:-

The phrase “Khaate-peetey ghar ke” will soon suffocate in the deep unsaturated levels of cholesterol and will be over taken by “Bakbakiya ghar ke”. Wait a minute, isn’t “khaate peetey ghar ke” already replaced by “Six pack/ zero figure”. So “Six pack/ zero figure” will be the one eventually getting replaced by “Bakbakiya ghar ke”, ultimately getting replaced by “Hamaare pas paani hai, tumhare pas kya hai?”

2) Gold will eventually hug food, paving the way for water.

3) The “under-privileged” will be “over-impoverished” and the “over-privileged” will do the “zamindari “ all over again.

4) In the political pothole, the hand will pluck the lotus, the lotus will be puking out mud all over the hand and an elephant will crush the both, resulting in a severe foot fracture. The Jorney with Harry Potter... So far

As far as I can recall, I never entered the magically magnificent world of HARRY POTTER because of the hype, but it was that I just got a copy of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets from somehere (without knowing that it was the second part). I saw it like fools, without having read the novel or being the part of craze, all I had heard was “Harry Potter” from TV may be, I just didn’t knew who played what or what the heck was going on, most of it went over my head. Even if I couldn’t understand what I was supposed to, I loved the movie and no HP movie till date has been able to break its spell.
Later on, when I got the first part i.e. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, i could finally fill the gaps that the second movie left for me. Since then I jumped in the worldwide club of Harry Potter fanatics, that goes gaga over Harry Potter every time he makes a new move. I couldn’t catch up with the books, because I never saved the money for them and whenever I asked for them in the library, they were always taken by someone else before me.
The first movie in which I flowed along the hype, browsed the net, raised my expectations was Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, I caught this one also on a VCD. It turned out to be very different from the previous editions; it was darker, deeper (along with the voice-boxes) and confusing (because of the time travel). Amidst all the confusion, I still loved the movie and it turned better and better with multiple viewings.
Since then, I watched every outing of the Harry Potter saga in the theaters.
Cut to: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, before I watched the movie, I could finally get my hands on the novel from the library which turned out to be the first novel I actually “loved” and wished that the celluloid interpretation could be as effective. But alas, another change of director, another change in age and the Emma Watson erotism spoiled the movie. I never found Emma Watson so beautiful (specifically in the Ball scene) ever before, may be because finally, I was of the same age as that of the character she potrayed. And most importantly what spoiled the movie for me was that I had read the novel and that they had gulped many of the scenes I wanted to see. Heard from many that the novels are better than the movies, this one proved that true for me. Apart from Emma Watson, the three tasks, the mad-eye moody moments, the voldemort-Harry duel, it all began with the 4th movie, great scenes but something missing.
But with the 5th movie i.e. The Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix, the ultimate degradation of the most magical movie series I had ever seen took place with David Yates playing the captain of the ship, which would enhance the CGI effects of the movie, but would submerge the overall FEEL of the movie. The 4th movie hinted at it , but the 5th movie degraded Harry Potter like never before, it crushed my expectations just like ‘The Bride’ crushes the eye of Elle in Kill Bill 2, it was the first movie in which I could find myself getting bored and my younger brother drowsing. The movie was plain boring in the pre – interval part where there was less ‘CG action’. It was dark, it was gloomy, it was action right at frame1, But just like Dursley had lost its fat and gained height, the movie had lost its charm(which had very little to do with the age of the actors) and gained audience.
The only thing I liked in the movie was the final minutes of the movie, the demolition of the prophecies and the death of Sirius black. Leaving a couple of scenes whose credit goes to the CG department, the movie was equivalent to shit. May be it was expectations, may be it wasn’t, the expectations were mine so I could defend them, but Yates wasn’t mine, he was neither of the screenplay nor of the novel. He was the pimp that made Harry Potter a whore.
Finally, this Friday I got the opportunity to catch the first “first day, first show” of my life as The Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince filled the screen with the first movie title which didn’t alter in hindi. No “Aadhe khoon wala RajKumar”. I had already assassinated my expectations the day I came to know that the movie will be directed by David Yates, but when the trailers trudged the screen of my TV, computer, PMP, a tinge of expectations etched my head again. I was expecting a dark insight into Voldemort’s history as I had known from my cousin and the wicked web of novel spoilers about almost everything; still I hadn’t read the novel except the chapter Lightning Struck Tower in which Dumbledore dies. But whatever I knew, it had created the image of the movie as the darkest of the HP movies, but unexpectedly what it turned out to be was a funny partial teeny-bopper, partial tongue in (opposite sex’s) cheek comedy, which had more smooches than spells and for the first time Dumbledore behaved as ‘tharki buddha’ staring at the girl in the hoarding, collecting magazines and keeping check of Harry’s love interests. May be he wanted to ‘live’ before death.
According to Imdb and my cousin who had read the novel (who was snatching my cell phone at regular intervals in the movie, may be because of the boredom, may be because he had felt that the movie had lost somewhere along with him) they had not only altered the scenes but created new ones which were entirely useless apart from showing what they should have. The most to-be dramatic and intense scenes in the movie looked forced (the intro to horcruxes, whore-cruxes as pronounced by Voldemort, the death of Dumbledore, the funeral etc etc) and didn’t created the impact they ought to create. The only scene in the movie, which I liked, was the zombie one. The 5th movie degraded the FEEL; the 6th not only degraded the FEEL but degraded the scenes also.
Now that I have already read the Deathly Hallows part, in which JK Rowling had herself killed the charm of previous novels, what can I expect from Yates Bhai who will make 2 damn movies on it?
May be I can expect something.

Shrieking rotating chairs, shouting assholes, chattering nonsense. A so called computer lab filled with handicap students and non-handicap students or the non handicap students that slide over the ceramic cream color tiles with the wheel chairs with little wheels. The teacher indulged in his sown horrendous duties. Boredom surrounds me. My screwed up mind vibrates. I become the devil and my workshop kick-starts.

The ancient white idiot boxes lie switched off like dormant zombies, waiting to get their asses kicked and get their bodies re-buried.

I see them, they see me and then they see my writometer. I approach them with the pen. Do hell with those 15”/17” CRT, they aren’t my target, I am interested in something that lays lower, THE KEYBOARD.

New and old, black and white keyboards lay in their graves i.e the scrolling drawers. My mind tweaked my hands, and they followed the pen to crack the code.

I inserted the pen tip, under the key to be displaced, and then under the key to be inserted, fast but stealthily. Determination, danger, will, wickedness circled my head as I played with the keys. F1,F2,F3,F4 turned SEXY and F5,F6,F7,F8 changed their sexes to become GIRL.

Not to mention the multiple keyboards I screwed up with the “F” word.

Hell if I can do it, why not you. The most enjoyable thing about the useless Keyboard Scrabble is that it might slaughter your boredom, though it might do the same with you, if the keyboard ain’t yours. But what’s the fun if you do It on your keyboard.

The most suitable gaming parlors for Keyboard Scrabble are school computer labs, cyber cafes, friend’s/foe’s computer when he/she might not be present.

My computer knows me better than I do… or it just cares for me… It has got some special artificial intelligence that whenever my examination gives a knock, it locks itself in weird ways, cringes my head with its infertility.

It tries everything, every damn’ thing to frustrate me and divert my attention from it to me.

It handles my abuses, spanks and nuisances, but still it continues its Satyagraha and Gandhigiri to force me to immerse myself in the disastrous tree waste i.e. the damned textbooks, so I can atleast pass in the exams.

In 2007, it screwed my head with frequent restarts like it was shivering with malaria, in its case I was the plasmodium.

I tried the non-Gandhian way at the C.P.U (since I suck at hardware messing). I slapped it with variations of forces and velocities, and sometimes it worked, just like a kid beaten by its parent, cries for a minute and then the kid is back to his hell.

Finally I called those S.O.B. computer engineers who show tantrums for a week or two, ignoring calls, handling them and making erratic excuses, as if they have made a deal with telecom companies, so that the moron whose computer turns moron has to shell out the money on telephone calls first and then on those damn bastards.

Now as my half yearly Ist semester exams shrieks are getting nearer and nearer, the Computer is back to haunt me so that I could finally study after wasting a whole lot of months on it.

Now its hanging, crashing, grunting, growling, turning sufi songs into heavy metal. And if that wasn’t enough, it increased the corruption levels by corrupting the windows.

An d now its suffocating along with me. Hope I respect my dear PC’s temporary sacrifices for my better and let that hope rust in some Ghajini rod.

!!! FIRST FAILURE !!!

Tension trailing down the head, body drenched by sweat, the atrocious chill down the spine- I always thought that the failure would be just like this and much more devastating, but last year I actually experienced the four-lettered worked which starts with ‘F’ but doesn’t end with ‘K’.

My half yearly examinations banged on with the Catastrophic Chemistry taking the lead. The question paper didn’t seem as terrible as I thought it would be, but as my pen trolled across the blank answer sheet. As the time circulated, I reckoned that just like the blank answer sheet, my brain was also blank.
Half-baked answers, otiose cheating attempts and blah blah blah. If those crazy attempts weren’t enough for my crazy head to ‘screw-up’ the puking paper, I began to draw crazy cartoons at the back of the question paper, pierced the eye balls of those cartoons with my pen and passed threads in them, and then tied over a knot around them. Devastating, crazy and true!
…and soon the three hours passed like a whiff of a wind.

Then came the Pathetic Physics, with its evil intentions. The pen was in no mood to wander across the one lined page field, as my head was blank, blanker from the damn’ beginning. No “blahs” to scribble as I ain’t good at notorious numerical and delusional derivations. Sheet by sheet children emptied, I sat still and silent with my hollow head thinking nothing, doing nothing. Was I nuts? Or was the teacher. She allowed me to cheat! Infact she asked me to cheat! , but she did that intelligent thing when the remaining time wasn’t that intelligent. In lieu of giving me the much awaited opportunity earlier, she had been asking me silly questions like “Why aren’t you doing the paper?” and I was retorting in a sillier and eco-friendly way “Just Conserving trees” I replied.
And then came the old n gold(shiny shit) yet not sold M!d@r#h$d Mathematics. Like always he greeted me a much awaited head-ache.

I again tried, tried and tried again,
Alas I came to know that I was just deep-frying my brain!

But by crook fastened with a hook, I somehow managed to shit-up the paper by scribbling over the false and fake marks with someone’s red pen, but still the marks couldn’t cross the border between the pass and fail, so I played with the total marks to cross the border line. Anyhow it worked and it didn’t. I wasn’t pass and I wasn’t fail but landed on the boundary, on the border between the pass and the fail, but the two bloody assholes waited for me there to drag me into the well of wail.
I wasn’t dead, but was I alive???

SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE / SLUMDOG CROREPATI: REVIEW

With the news of Slumdog Millionaire's constant winning streak . I got curious to know what the heck's in the movie. And since its releasing on 23^rd Jan and so are my annual papers, I thought when will piracy play its vital role. So I searched it over the net and finally found the English version of it on orkut.

Plotty Potty:

Based on Vikas Swarup's novel "Questions and Answers", Slumdog Millionaire is a not-so-ordinary rags to riches story of a boy named Jamal Malik told in a not-so-ordinary way.

Jamal Malik (Dev Patel) participates in Kaun Banega Crorepati ( Indian version of Who Wants to Be A Millionare) to find his childhood love Latika (Freida Pinto) where he is accused of cheating.

The movie starts with Jamal being interrogated by the police about how he knew the answers to all the questions. The movie unfolds as Jamal narrates his sour n' sweet experiences behind every answer.

So is the movie really so good?

Ya b) No c) Not really d) Damn' You

and the answer is… 'c' … Slightly overrated and over-awarded.

And about the acting ?

Fine b) Yuck c) Good d) Brillaint

And the answer is… 'c'

It could have been brilliant.

Though the acting is well ( neither good nor bad) but the movie in English is a little bit undigestible. Plus that Mr. Salim, as he grows not only his English improves but he starts speaking with a lil' bit of brit accent (not even gujarati Patel). Anil Kapoor and Saurabh Shukla were good. Irrfan Khan looked boozed. Latika (Freida Pinto) looked beautiful and acted beautifully.

Kudos to the child artists in the movie, especially the youngest Jamal and his brother Salim.

The movie has got its own flaws (KBC was never telecasted live) but the director Danny Boyle knew how to hide the flaws with his intelligent story-telling.

Soundtrack:

The background score by AR Rahman goes along the mood of the movie (the O Saiyya,Ringa Ringa,Sitar music)

Craziest Scene:

When youngest Jamal jumps in shit to get the autograph of Amitabh Bachchan (the fake one)

Coolest Scene:

Old bollywood style of increasing the age, but I really liked the scene when youngest Jamal tries to steal the food from the train.

Sucking Scene:

The AR Rahman's 'Jai Ho' comes before/along the credits with a damn' dance number (which looked similar to ek challis ki last local's kya hua jo lari chuti… but this one was more weird looking)

When expectations exceed, celestial bodies decrease.

ELEVENTH SUCKS BIG TIME!

Why does it always feels like that the previous class rocked, and the current one sucks ( most people say, may be not but hell I say it)

I am in the 11^th grade for more than half a year, and it seems that I am rusting and decaying in the walls of 11^th for more than a lifetime., though my text books and refreshers refuse to agree… some display their dew-fresh untouched pages (they aren’t wet) and some torn apart (I don’t blame myself for testing the effects of gravity on them, in fact damn CBSE and NCERT for the screwed up quality of the books, the books with the hologram)

My perspective towards studying/cramming changed a lot in the past few years. My favorite subjects switched their positions, from Science to S.St to English to IT to nothing.

Even though I have chosen Sciences-Non Medical (forcibly) it is hard for me to digest more than one paragraph at a time.

My most hated and dreaded subject from the last decade used to be Mathematics, until Science took an unexpected turn and absorbed numbers and gave birth to the two new demons in the Science, The Chemistry and The Physics, where the fusion of the numericals and the good old concepts took place.

And now Physics and Chemistry have taken more grim avatars, their books might not be king sized but the reference books that may not enhance your mind but regular lifting and dropping of it may enhance your biceps.

In fact Physics and Chemistry have formed new definitions in my screwed up mind.

Physics: Baat ka Batangarh Banana (Making a mountain out of mole hill).The concepts which were sometimes interesting for me have turned into crappy derivations with triple x’s and y’s v1’s and v2’s and lot of weird greek alphabets that keep on getting add as constants.

Eg: If something falls, according to physics “OMG it can fall! Let’s put some g’s and G’s over it”

Chemistry: If it was fiction it could be much better but alas it’s a collect of false facts and hypothetical bullshittin’ concepts that were given by drunk homo-genius scientists. Chemistry is a whole damn’ branch of lying on lies.

Eg: A dog Is peeing @ a pole , according to chemistry it is pouring some H₂O on Fe

With tremendous increase in the stinkin’ tendencies of Physics and Chemistry, The fear of Maths has reduced somewhat.

Browsers Without Internet!

In the last post i mentioned about the browser brawls.
But all these browser brawls are meaningless...crap... if there is no internet connection!

But the browsers have already prepared themsleves for such mess... by giving crap messages...
different but frustrating!

First and Foremost comes the Internet Explorer with "Cannot Find Server"
-right enough!
Firefox vomits "Address not found" - Crap on You! You cant find Google!
Would Firefox get web attacks if it stated "Server Not Found" ?

The least crapped and most relevant message is of Safari.
It doesnt atleast torture the user with useless bullshit!

Opera yells "Could not locate remote server" but in the end gives the same lame bullshit that firefox farted!

Chrome should be beaten the hell out with chrome objects... for not obeying its master!
It bloats "The webpage is not available" to the same google that gave him birth.
It later says that his father has died... or maY have moved to some new place!
Pity on Chrome!

Browser Brawls

Few months ago it was Mozilla Firefox 3,
few days ago it was Google Chrome, that stole the attention as well as some of the hard disk space of many of the internet users.
As the so called internet "content" is growing... how can the browsers sit back.
With the increasing number of web browsers, the competition is getting fierce, freakin' fierce.
Although the battle/brawl/war (usage) continues to be won by Internet Explorer ( just because it comes preloaded with microsoft windows).
The real winner is of course Firefox, because it is promoted like hell with different widgets, ads supporting.

For Internet Explorer,
I dont hate it, i dont love it, and i dont update it, because in the end i always return to the good old internet explorer 6 because of my years of experience with it.

And Firefox,
I dont understand why the hell people are so affectionate/crazy about it, if security is the concern...i dont damn think so... it gave my a computer a cool present known as spyware...
its adventures are stated here. Also it doesnt block most of the pop up poops...
Well, its not that bad (because i am using it now) because and only because of the so called Add-ons, another reason being the Spell Check, which is a great feature for me as i am the king of the typos and you might have noticed that in many of my posts( if you would have the guts to read them).
And finally the add-ons that make it similar to Opera.

The other browser in the race and in my PC is Safari from Apple.
Its neither my default browser nor the browser which i use frequently, it has got a reason and a good damn' reason.

The reason: to access "good" magazines for free.

Google's Chrome is just too new to make its mark... and its just doesnt have so many features as compared to other web browsers.
Its just simple and cool and in beta. (That's what Google is known for simple and cool stuff... and years of keeping it as beta... Orkut is still in beta.)
The damn' things i feel in it are no menu bar... thought it may be their take at innovation...
i think it just a mistake!

And finally the browser which i l♥ve...
Opera
Though its current status is uninstalled, the interface, the speed-dial, the mouse-gestures, the "key" used to save password, the themes according to me simply rock...
whereas the only thing that i hated in it was frequent crashes and slow start up times.
which deserved to be bashed up with rocks.

Finally a browser is a browser.
Features will only get added, the main motive of the browsers is to surf the wide wicked web of internet...

J&K Land Row Cartoon

If you have got news channels bumming into your homes, then you might have heard about the news reagrding the month long J&K protests regarding the land which was given to/taken away from Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (S.A.S.B)

(The reason why i know about this news is most probably that, i live in Jammu....and the earlier phase of it[ending june] cancelled my holidays to Srinagar.)

I wished to take some snaps of the agitation...the revolts...the protests...

but as a normal middle class camera owner, i care for my camera too.

(Another reason being i just couldnt get the opportunity to see the real "thing" happening)

So i decided why not to make a cartoon over this entire problem

(whatever you call it...for me its free freakin' holidays)

Dont kill me as this is my first political cartoon.

The Meaning:

Well, unfortunately this meaningless cartoon does have a meaning.

1. K stands for Kashmir and J stands for Jammu (Hope you had this much of brain).

2. Big ants stand for the ploiticians... and small for the people, who are ready to sacrifice for the big ants.

3. Thhe center of the cartoon i.e. "S.A.S.B.ahu"

where S.A.S.B stands for Shri Amarnath Shrine Board.

And it also means that differences have been cropped up between Sas (mother-in-law) and Bahu(daughter-in-law), where Sas stands for kashmir as it is bigger in size, dominating and the desicions are going in her favour and Bahu ofcourse is jammu for the opposite reasons.

The Making:

I had made this cartoon on my drawing pad... and made an attempt to capture them via my DCR-HC46E( I dont have a scanner).

Unfortunately the pencil stokes were dull enough to be seen. So i had to get back to Flash5, but i didnt wasted the image that i had captured...

So i redraw it all over again on Flash5( on the image outline).

Then i took its screen shot editted it a little in paint (the little means adding up my links at the top)

And then i though that realistic fire and smoke would be better.

So i popped up Photoshop.

Edited the image via Eye Candy 4000 plugin...(by applying blur, fire and smoke effects)

and here it is, the cartoon is ready to be stared and criticised.

This time the so called so secure browser has done the harm itself by screwing up my computer with 15 f'in spywares, malwares, trojans etc etc... and still it is the most loved, most downloaded, most appreciated browser!.

Thank God, the good old Spybot- Search n' Destroy removed 12 of them...
but still The so called "Smitfraud BS.c" malware is kicking the ass off my computer.
It has eaten up my screensavers, wallpapers...
By giving me a precious wallpaper that i saved as a memory.

Change the theme, remove the ads and other bullshit~
I was actually sick and tired of the theme on my blog for around 9 months( and no my theme didnt gave out a baby)

Then came June, strikes, curfews and finally vacations and curfews and so on...)
When the vacations began i finally decided to finish the god damn' job ( i feared that by changing my template i'll lose all damn' ads and widgets... but later i made up my mind finally... another reason was that no post was kicking my mind.)
Then i searched around the gr8 "G" a.k.a. Google for 3 column templates (free of course) but blah blah blah... didnt liked them at the first sight.

After that bullshit i scrolled through some sort of a blog to look for the "powered by 'XXX'/'XXX' themes."
And then the site popped up, but it was in portuguese, didnt mattered to me because google translator was with me.
Then i downloaded a few templates, looked good, saved them applied them and then deleted them (opinions change~ especially mine).

After that i knocked back at the doors of google to search for some more damn templates and finally i actually liked some of them.
Then i was back at the threshold of blogger to edit html> upload the new template...
and then.........................
wtf... i was welcomed by beautifully brutal BX Codes...

whose BX remained the same but its fathers kept on changing such as BX-shit, BX-crap and BX-whatever and so on...
Help Groups, Help Blog tried every damn service they offered...

May be the "Blogger" is having s good Kumbakarana(6 month) sleep.

After letting them die, I switched to their very own pathetic templates to live on, blog on.

Though i am still waiting to get rid of the bX-Bullshit, i think i need to move on/survive.

And while typing my pain out...i have finally written a 100+ words post!

After spending 100 bucks for the movie ticket and 30 bucks for a Coke i wished that Sarkar Raj
had finally something in store for me... and that it would be better than its previous
installment that i had watched on the original VCD... but it couldnt follow the magic of Sarkar.

So what the heck is the story:::

The Results are Out!!!

Thes results of AISSE2008(whatever) are finally out.
And they have shocked as well as surprised everyone, just like me.
I could believe it that i wasnt even a little bit tense for the results the night before them.
Though i waked up all the damn' night (as the next day was a holiday and not the result)
I was Suffering from and Surfing the net late night downloading some movie... and creating an animation to pass my time...
But i couldnt beat the night and finally i slept at six to wake up again at eight to face my most loved thing converting itself to most hated thing while staring at the result that proved the statement "expect the unexpected" TRUE.

Now another shock stroke me as i mistakenly did some uselesss senselees registry change...(actually spybot asked and i answered randomly) just to find out that everytime i switched my computer on i was welcomed by my very own result and when i decided to swirch it off the same result bade me goodbye...
If anyone can help please comment...
till then watch the animation i made the night before the result.

The Gr8 Windows Movie Maker

If you are a frequent and old reader of Crazyblog (which you would definitely not be), you might have noticed that the quote which I have used in many of my posts…

“The best things in the world are free, or make your pockets free”
However Windows Movie Maker fortunately doesn’t belong to latter category.

What the hell Windows Movie Maker (WMM) is:
As the name suggests, Windows Movie Maker is a cool and free utility that allows you to create movies. You can simply say (you can shut your mouth also) that WMM is a video editing software mostly used for creating nice home video e.g.:- Vacation and stuff like that.

Windows Movie Maker is preinstalled on Windows XP and Vista( may be on 98,2000 too) and the version in Windows XP SP2 is much better than that of SP1 as it has multiple transitions and effects which are sufficient for almost everyone.
You need at least 256 MB of RAM for its “good” working.
(I had tried it a 128 MB also… but it results in frequent crashes and video losses)

If you’ll “try to try it” for a little more that half an hour, you will learn its controls and working without even glancing (if an ex 13 years (now 15) student + blogger could do it then why not you)
And it’s damn’ simpler and easier to use than its rivals.

Now I am writing whatever I am typing teach you, or to persuade you (Note: I am not Microsoft’s or its nerd honcho’s servant to use this not often used utility, but simply because I like this software) to use this not often used utility for non-stereotypical purposes… i.e. video editing of marriages and vacation and shit (stuff word already used) like that.

So what the hell you can do via Windows Movie Maker:

1. Download Songs
2. Make an animation
3. Make a Presentation/ Slideshow

1. Download Songs:
You can download the songs running on your P.C. Via the method I had already mentioned in my
First post.

2. Making an Animation:
This one requires a high patience skill (which I don’t possess)

Now what the heck to do:

1. Draw Pictures (I drew on Paint), you can scan the pictures or do whatever so that they are safely in your hard disk.

2. Import these pics. To Windows Movie Maker, from Movie Tasks > Import pictures.

3. Now do the real work, i.e. drag and drop your pics. In order of appearance In the timeline/storyboard view.

4. Animation without sound is better than bullshit… So to put some sound to your animation…switch to the timeline view and Click the mike. Button (Narrate Timeline) and record your sound while the animation runs… such that the sound runs along with the frames. Or if your throat has withered up… and you don’t want to waste your precious voice for such stuff… or you just don’t have a microphone… then you can import the sound you want to run from Movie Tasks > Import audio or music, and drag it at the Audio/Music in the Timeline View. Be sure to click the sound and reduce/increase its size by dragging it with the red resizers, if your sound is too long for the animation, or your animation is too short for the sound.

5.Now, what the hell;;; save it!!!

P.S. This can be applied to the Stop-motion Videos too.

3. Make a Presentation/ Slideshow:
You can also make a Presentation/Slideshow by importing all the pictures captured by you…
Just like it was done in “Making an Animation”.
But for making better slideshows, I suggest you to apply the video transitions between each picture by:
1.Selecting Video Transitions from the drop down menu at the bar below the menu bar (I always forget its name)

2.And then drag and drop the transitions between the pictures in the small boxes in the Storyboard View.

3.Then simply save your stuff.

In a presentation you will need to write your stuff in paint… and then import the pics.

The best thing about making presentations on it is that you can run your presentations/slideshows on a VCD/DVD player.

There may be many other things which can be done via Windows Movie Maker…
It would be great if you will try these things out (and give the credit to me for teaching you how to do it) but it would be greater if you come up with some more things and burp back.

Sprite -the Spoofer is back

Recently while shuffling channels via my tata sky remote control, i paused at something familiarly unfamiliar... and what i paused was some advertisement* resembling over-hyped useless "Pepsi Youngistan" ad*.

And hell it was a crazy ad indeed replacing youngistan with jungleeistan, firangeeisatan, kabrisatan and finally pados.
Then rolled yeh hai hindustan
Finally i came to knew that this ad/commercial was the latest ad from sprite.
And then i tracked down my memory lane... and remembered that few years ago Sprite had spoofed Mountain Dew in a "Peelarious" way.
Though Mountain Dew answered back, but it wasnt as impactful and as humorous as the Sprite's ad.
(Who cares... the ads are there to increase sales not to make people laugh)
Then Sprite came with ridiculous ads, featuring 3d crows and sania(s) (both are the same) but both of them didnt lasted long and didnt left any impact.
(May be even this wont, but i wish to write and i will write)
And a few months ago Sprite brought the truthly boring ad.
(Well i actually hate their slogan or whatever it is... Clear hai...Pyaas Bujaao and stuff like that...
arre pyaas hi bujani hai to saalon pani piyo sprite mein moo marney se ghanta milega)

The spoof war between the similar coloured and similar flavoured cold drinks is not really new...
it often takes place, but nothing doenst really gets out of control as it should have been.
The first ad i saw in which a coldrink was being spoofed was may be of thumsup many years ago.
But i dont understand why its the beverage companies that ofter quarell.
Returning Back...
May be Pepsi will fight back, may be it wont, but what we can do is watch these commercials stroll between our eyes...and those pestiscide drops flow through our stomach.

Though my post wouldnt do any shit, but as soon as news channels like India TV exist... there might be some news for sure popping in their special reports and breaking news.

Spacebar the longest key, apart from being used to provide spaces in a word processor, or in ur blog is also targetted by the game makers, and especially gamers.
Though my space bar key, is not broken yet... but i like seeing other people's broken keyboards.
Well not really.
After the arrow keys, w,s,a,d and enter "space bar" is used...
and i am going to mention some games... that require extreme pressing of your space bar key, that may even lead to its breaking.

1.Gully Cricket:
This is an online version of reformed cricket that is often seen in the streets of india( mostly on sundays and curfews).

even this game, has a point when, you will have to continuosly press the space bar, and keep it hitting...if you keep it hitting you survive and if you dont, your game is over... its just like a local street panga.

I really hoped that the much screwing cbse boards papers may have started a month later than 1 March 2008, beacause i could have excused that i though i am being april-fooled.

I had made many cartoons on examination in recent[ though i keep scribblin' and singing and cartooning on my notebooks], since i have no scanners, mouse pens and graphic tablets.

The murderous math murdered me again and i am still alive.

Sick...Stuck...Screwed.
Today was my birthday + maths pracrical + maths theory examination.

However a preboard!!!

but still it sucks getting screwed up by maths again and
again,getting pissed off by the maths monster.

I tried my shit and my bit to do atleast something...so that my bald~headed teacher
could atleast stare and draw red circles.

Still it took me 6 bloody pages to write some damn' questions who neither had a
head nor a foot.

I and my fellow trees who donated me six pages to scribble over shit would like to

Once in a while comes a movie that makes you smile, cry and finally what other movies can't ...makes your parents and you aware...
Once a while a actor throws away his style and all the stuff to get serious to make something that isnt masala but is a pure movie...
and that person is Aamir Khan.
And his directorial debut is one movie that can bring stars to earth...

So what on earth is the god damn' story:-

Ishaan(Darsheel) is a dyslexic child who hates to learn, read, write or simply "study".
He is pressurised by his parents,teachers to study, but he just cant keep up and is always lost in his thoughts.
His father throws him into a boarding school where he becomes depressed until comes our very own Aamir Khan as a new art teacher named Ram Shankar (who teaches mentally retarded children) to his rescue and brings out the gold out of Ishan.
Really Motivating.
The movie looks so realistic in terms of treatment.
I though liked the pre-interval part more.The street pangas are shown brilliantly,
and the song "Bheja Kum" was cool and crazy
.Also the "3 x 9" animation rocked. The songs didnt destroy the movie though, but the "bum bum bole" song was sort of an item number, but eventually it may have created an optimistic hope that some day there would be such teachers...(but who'll bring Prasoon Joshi to write songs for them).

Sometimes I even felt that i was a part of the movie. The sleeping scenes of Ishan in bed,
the way he apologised his father, the bloody teachers ( Ishaan's previous school's English Teacher just spoke like my ex- english teacher of class 2nd... the voice the dialogues exactly the same)... Though i felt the second part was bit long but still not boring... the discussions between Aamir and Ishan's father were something that i could understand
( i hate this P.T.M. stuff)....

The movie's ending was fabulous. No better ending can be suggested especially the "Guru vs Chela" for the first prize in "The Painting Competition" and the highly emotional hug, the red eyed Aamir.

OVERALL THE MOVIE CAN BE A GOOD DETERGENT TO WASH AWAY THE DOMINATION OF OM SHANTI OM!!!

Sick of Orkut's Notification!!!

It has been a week of this shit annoying pop-up messages!!

Orkut has brought up a new feature of some sort of...

Notification eg:-

So whats the crap is that when you log in orkut... you feel happy that there are scraps for you but before you could read them the devil appears in the form of a dialogue box

i.e. .

It creates a headache because you have to click that "ok" button to get through...

but when you click it you see the page crying "The page Cannot be displayed"

and you have to click that damn' button two times after reloading the extremely annoying page.

....

But while I was writing this post and multitasking with orkut by my side... they recently introduced scrapping in hindi without hell html... but by simply checking the box staring "type in hindi"

Now i redefine it with the skin(theme) made by me(actually this is my second skin)

It may not be the best... but still it is the one for me so for me it is the best.
How on earth I made it?

1.I Logged in to ownskin

2.Then I went in to create my them using the quick method(thats the olden one)

3.And Then i browsed the apple iphone's default wallpaper thats the clown fish.

4.Then i chose to get in the advanced stuff, where i mostly concentrated on the icons.

From where the.... i brought the iphone icons....well from my blog itself.

5.I resized them to 89x89 as the requirements for uploading the icons were between 88x88 to 120x120.

6.Then named it.

Uploaded it and woo it got on the deck.

Google gone 10yrs old.
Today's 9th birthday of the great google.
So I wish Google a very very very very very Happy birthday.

Google from mere unknown search engine has turned to not only favourite homepage but the biggest search engine of the world.

Just to explian in one of my previous posts

i reviewed a social networking site named hikut as hi5+orkut and just wrote of yahoo+google=yoogle.

Well i noticed today that there was a site named yoogle...not yoogle but gahoo yoogle...amazing isnt it.

And that too since 2005.

Now it is so it is, it is benefitial too...You can get different results in the same window divided into two from both yahoo! and google and they claim that 70% of their first 100 results are different on an average.It saves time and gives great result.TRY IT OUT
